Even a British symbol as luxury car maker Aston Martin has asked for Italian design. The new Vanquish Zagato, introduced in Lake Como, is the latest beauty coming from the British firm. And the concept is 100% Italian. Andrea Zagato is the CEO of the well-known Italian design house, whose idea has developed the new Vanquish Zagato.
“We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato concept was a true shared experience. It represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years” the CEO said.
The car was showcased at the Concorso Villa d’Este, near Lake Como on May 21.
Even tough Aston Martin has always been British in its style, the relationship with Zagato is long-standing, with several collaborations over the years. It all started in the 1960s, with the creation of special edition vehicles.
Aston Martin executive VP Marek Reichman has explained the partnership: “Over the years, we have developed and refined our own design language and we have always got that little bit further with our special series cars”.
For the Vanquish Zagato, the hood reaches 600 horsepower, with an extended use of carbon-fiber.
It’s an Aston and you can recognize it, but the Italian style is there and you can easily see it.
